Czestochowa
Czestochowa, or to be exact a great monastery placed on Jasna Góra hill is one of the most important places of worship of the Virgin Mary and the most popular pilgrim destination in Poland. Monastery which was founded in 1382 A.D. grow bigger through the centuries and played meaningful role in a polish history.
Monastery is most famous from Black Madonna icon. It’s a central part of monastery and cathedral. The icon is well known of its miracles dated in a past but also nowadays.
It’s a great place to visit not only for Catholic believers’, monastery with its magnificent shrine and huge fortifications is a breath-taking piece of art and architecture. Several museum buildings located inside monastery walls holds a number of sacral paintings and many more historical exhibits.
